Are you eating enough fruit and vegetables?

Found this article on Revolution Health.

I don't know about you - but I don't eat that much every day of the year.
That is why supplementing with whole-food supplements makes such sense to me.

Despite constant reminders to eat better, recent studies show the average American is still not eating her (recommended) vegetables (or fruits).

“the average american is still ... not eating her vegetables”

Not wanting to deprive our bodies of any needed nutrients, we asked Sandra Foschi, P.T., C.D.N., a nutrition expert for Health SOS, to make us serving smart ...

What are the recommended daily servings of fruits and veggies? You should try for 3 to 5 servings of vegetables and 2 to 4 servings of fruits per day. On average, go for 5 servings combined daily.

What constitutes a serving? One serving equals:

  • 1 cup of raw leafy vegetables (Imagine: an average woman's fist)
  • 1/2 cup of fruit or veggies, cooked or raw (Imagine: a light bulb)
  • 1 medium piece of fruit (Imagine: size of a baseball)
  • 3/4 cup of fruit juice

(Take note of supersized items: A large apple could count as 3 servings, not 1.)

So get your 5 today! Your healthy heart, shiny hair and glowing skin will thank you!
